Walking with Survivors

April is nationally recognized as Sexual Assault Awareness Month and, as such, RDVIC hosts an annual "Walking With Survivors" event (formerly known as "Walk a Mile in Their Shoes") to raise awareness of this issue and to come together as a community to show our support for survivors. In addition to being our annual Sexual Assault Awareness Month event, this is RDVIC's annual fundraising event.

We recognize that this is a very sensitive topic that has had very serious impacts upon survivors. No one should be forced to endure this trauma. This event seeks to raise awareness of the issues of sexual violence and to support and celebrate survivors for the strength and resilience that makes them just that: survivors! Our goal is host an event that is lighthearted, family-friendly (and pet-friendly!), and fun. Check-in and in-person registration will begin at 2PM, the walk will begin at 3PM, then we will return to the pavilion for a small celebration with music, food, and prizes, including a prize for the biggest team.
